Name NUTTING, Sarah - Sarah Nutting Farnsworth, Matthias, Jr.'s widow, remarried to John Stone December 16, 1698. Sarah was the daughter of John and Sarah Nutting. John Nutting was an original proprietor of Groton, holding a "17 acre" right and lived directly north of the place where James Brook crosses the Groton Main Street. His house was one of the most ancient of the garrisons of the town and not very far from the garrison house of Captain James Parker. Parker was on the south side of the brook, Nutting on the north.
