Several descendants of Johathan in the 1800's joined the early Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints and suffered persecution because of it. Several emigrated to Utah in wagons in long and difficult journeys. Some practiced polygamy. Moses Franklin Farnsworth was a descendant of Jonathan. He was the compiler and publisher of the first "Farnsworth Memorial". His accomplishments include helping found the settlement of Kanab, Utah in 1870. He had five wives.
